This fall’s Feast takes us on a field trip to the Public Kitchen, a hub for food, ideas and action. Inspired by the family kitchen as a gathering place, Public Kitchen invites anyone to come feast, learn, imagine, unite and claim public space. Over the past two months, the Feast Mass team has been hard at work designing and building a mobile, modular, outdoor kitchen in Upham's Corner in Dorchester, in partnership with the Design Studio for Social Intervention and chef Nadine Nelson of Global Local Gourmet, and based out of a hub next to the Strand Theatre.
This Feast will be held at the Food Project’s Dudley Greenhouse. As always, we will offer a locally-sourced vegetarian meal, this time specially prepared by Chef Nadine. 100 tickets will be available for purchase at Public Kitchen throughout its 10-day run, which begins Friday, October 19. The call for proposals is open now and will continue until the day before Feast. We expect the grant to be in the neighborhood of $700–$1,000.
