Proposal: King Pong
Saturday, November 6, 2010 | Posted by Alex
Describe your idea.
"King Pong" is a giant version of Pong, the first popular video game (circa 1972) that will suddenly without notice appear in various locations around the city and be projected on the sides of buildings, parks, etc. with the passing public recruited to play.
How will you use your grant?
We will use the grant to purchase the necessary electronic hardware to build giant wireless controller knobs that can control the King Pong game. At the moment, we have built the controllers from bicycle wheels attached to video tripods. Our next step is to add the electronics to let these "controllers" talk to the game.
What is the expected status of your project by the next Feast?
There will already have been a number of "King Pong" spontaneous events around the Boston area, we will have a local loyal following and will have received a fair amount of press.
